5 Decor Trends You’ll Be Seeing in 2024

|

Wondering what 2024 has in store for home decor? Here are five design trends that are worth embracing! Textures, warm color palettes, and cozier styles are ahead!

Lived-in Looks

This year, we are leaning more towards creating spaces with a lived-in feel rather than homes for display. We are embracing imperfections and wanting to make our homes reflect who we are and how we live. Mixing heirlooms and vintage pieces with modern items can help create a familiar and welcoming atmosphere. To make this eclectic look feel more unified, find an element that you can repeat such as color, pattern, or texture.

Color: Earthy and Brown

Pantone’s color of the year is Peach Fuzz. Going along with the lived-in trend, this color is described as a warm tone that captures our desire to nurture ourselves and others. Warm, earthy colors are calming and welcoming. They promote feelings of closeness and connection. Brown is having a modern-day moment and replacing all the gray we’ve seen in recent years. Brown is a great, warm neutral that is perfect for layering and creating depth.

Texture

Layering texture is another way to create that inviting, cozy space we are looking for. Texture can start from the bottom up, so start by choosing the perfect rug and build upon that. Walls can even get in on the texture game with wallpaper or hand-applied finishes like plaster or Roman clay. Bouclé is a really popular texture at the moment and we are seeing it on pillows, furniture, and blankets.

Mudrooms

Making your home functional for you and your family will always be in style. Mudrooms serve as a practical and versatile space for a cleaner, more organized home. While we are wanting our homes to feel lived-in, we don’t want it to be messy and cluttered. No matter how much space you have to work with for a mudroom, you can find a lot of ideas here!

Unique Finds

While we are still loving inspiration from our favorite designers, we are seeking ways to make our homes feel more like “ours”. One-of-a-kind pieces, antiques, handmade items, or even a piece of artwork your child did fills your home with things that are meaningful to you.

Which one is your favorite trend? Any you’re going to incorporate this year?
