Christmas Home Tour

Oh how I love Christmas!! It’s arguably the greatest time of year. Plus it means we get pull out those Christmas decorations that have been collecting dust in our garage for the past year! In my opinion nothing is better than having all the Christmas lights on in your house and sitting by a roaring fire. It’s just so magical. Here’s a little tour of how I decorated my house for Christmas this year.

It all started with a tree. Not just any tree mind you, a gorgeous flocked 7.5 ft Christmas tree from King of Christmas. This is my first year having a flocked a tree. I was very nervous that it would just make a huge mess, but I was happily surprised when this beauty showed up! As I was fluffing the tree hardly any flock came off! King of Christmas knows how to make a Christmas tree right. I’ve gotten so many compliments on this tree. I actually considered keeping it bare because it just looked so pretty with no decorations, but who are we kidding, of course I had to decorate it! I wanted my colors this year to consist of golds, whites and blushes. So off to Michaels I went. I found these beautiful faux blush poinsettias there which I loved, and the white ones there too. I scored the Christmas balls at Homegoods. I also found the large snow flakes at the dollar store. At first I wasn’t sure I was liking the flowers in the tree, but once I added the Christmas balls I was really digging on it!  Sign and small trees: Homegoods similar gift wrap gift wrap

It’s always fun to decorate my console table for the holidays. I lay down garland anywhere I can, and pine cones too. Pine cones are my favorite because you can get them for free!Similar Basket Gold vase, Similar lamps, Rug

When I was a child my favorite part about Christmas morning was seeing what we got in our stockings! I still love putting fun little gifts in my husband and kid’s stockings. This year I was on the hunt for new stockings. I knew I wanted some that were more neutral in color. So of course I headed to Etsy and that’s where I Found Burlap Babe. They had these adorable burlap stockings. They are some of the cutest stockings I have ever seen, and the quality is awesome! I couldn’t leave out my precious pups so luckily they make suer cute doggy bone stockings too! I hung them on my stairs, using 3M hooks, for a while and loved it. These beauties from Burlap Babe will be our stockings for many years to come. Gift Wrap: Marshalls    Similar gift wrap

It wasn’t long before the kids insisted I move the stockings to the fireplace mantle. They said Santa wouldn’t be able to find them on the stairs! I do love stockings hanging on a mantle so I did as they asked. Having my fire going, some white Christmas lights twinkling and the stockings hung is my perfect setting! Aren’t these stockings the cutest! Look at the sweet details. The bows, buttons and the stripes.

Now this season was made even more special thanks to Lynch Creek Farm. This live wreath is so pretty! The smell is amazing too. It came fresh out of the box and still looks fresh. I have just given it a good soak once a week and it’s good to go. Lynch Creek Farm also makes gorgeous table centerpieces, garland and speciality items. This would make a fantastic gift and a wonderful hostess gift!! I will definitely be buying another next year.

See how beautiful my Lynch Creek Farm wreath is! She’s the crown jewel on my door. Wreaths make every thing just a little more festive. This year I put my two little wreaths on the banisters and I really love them there. Poinsettias, Light, Lord sign

The kids also insisted that we have ‘fun’ Christmas tree. Apparently they thought my wonderfully decorated tree was boring! They also demanded colored lights…which took a lot of strength to buy! I’m an all white lights kind of gal. So luckily I found this little cute flocked tree for only $30. Threw on some colored lights, tree skirt and ornaments I already had and bam the kids were happy and had their “fun” tree! Last year I lined the stairs with poinsettias that I got at Black Friday for only 99 cents each. Well this year I was too late to snag some for that awesome price, so wrapped gifts it was this year. I actually really like how they look, and bonus it made me wrap all my gifts early this year.

Stuck this cute little Christmas tree at the landing on the stairs, added some battery powered lights and a couple presents. I think it’s it the perfect thing for the top of the stairs. Gift Wrap: Marshalls Basket: Homegoods

Don’t tell my kids, but I actually really like this little tree. It fit perfectly in this little section next to the stairs too.

I added some cute and festive pillows to the sofa. I love buying pillow covers so you can store them easily and they don’t take up a lot of space. Plaid pillow, Buffalo check pillow, Similar mirror, Nativity scene

I did just a simple table setting this year. I found this dough bowl at Homegoods and knew I  had to put some garland and pine cones in it. Once I found these place mats and napkins I knew that was just what I needed. I love black and white for Christmas and the simplicity of the white plates and black salad plates. Top the the setting with a simple white ornament and you have a table setting fit for a king lol! Table

I couldn’t leave the kitchen out of the decorating fun. I added some cute little gold bows to the upper cabinets, and some fresh greenery from Trader Joes. It was just enough I think to have it feel festive and included in the decorating. Bar Stools, Office Chair, Pendants, Backsplash tile
