Coffee Table Styling

|

Hello and welcome to the blog!! Today I am sharing some different ways to style your coffee table! This is something I struggle with all the time! The one thing that I have found helps me with styling coffee tables, is using a tray. I feel like it just narrows down the area you need to style and makes it a little more manageable. I use trays on my coffee tables and clients. I usually like to have a medium size vase with some stems in it, a couple books with a smaller vase or candle on it and one more decorative item if there is room.

You can also use a tray and a vase. The tray can have it’s own little moment happening, then the vase can also have a moment. You can also do a smaller tray and then a stack of books on the side of it.

Another option is to use a tray and simply just add a vase. I love this simple clean look, and I love how the tray defines the space on the coffee table.

Another great option is to just use an extra large vase with some real or faux greenery. It can make a big statement! Vases and greenery always make great coffee table decor.

You can also use a medium size vase and some decor items. I always like to have a larger piece that is the “star” of the table, in this case it is the white vase. Vases and stems never go out of style for coffee table styling.

Another go to item for me when stying coffee tables is decorative boxes. I love to stack two decorative boxes of different sizes. My favorite place to find decorative boxes is Homegoods or Tjmaxx online. For this client’s table I used a couple decorative boxes, vase and a bowl with a vase filler. It’s always nice to have staggering heights on the table. It gives it more interest. A great source for decor pieces is Hobby Lobby.

Styling a coffee table with just decor pieces is a good option for coffee table styling. As you see here the designer still has varying heights, and the small vase with greenery is the “star” piece. Be mindful of if your decor pieces go together. Pairings of color is always nice.

Using books to style a coffee table is probably favorite item to use! Books are a great way to add varying heights and to act as a base for a decor item. I will often hit up my local thrift store to find books to style with on coffee tables and shelves. You can pick up books for under $2!! Just make sure you like the spine and it works with your colors.

Interior Design books are of course my favorite coffee table books. I have an abundance of design books so styling with them is easy! I actually love the look of just having stacks of books on the coffee table like you see here. It is always nice to have books that bring you joy lying around your house. So I say fill up your tables and shelves with your favorite books!
