Pantry Organization Tips

|

If you are anything like me your pantry needs some reorganization for the new year! The pantry can get so cluttered and it just makes it hard to find things!! In this post I’m going to share some great tips that make organizing your pantry much easier!! I hope this blog post helps with your organization for a fresh start to the new year!

Get ready to organize:

  1. The first step to organizing your pantry is to clear everything out. Take out all the food, storage bins, and any other things that you may have in there, it’s important to start with a clean slate!
  2. Now that all the food is out of the pantry, get rid of anything that is expired or old, this will help narrow down what is being put back into the pantry and get rid of some clutter.
  3. Before you start putting things back into the pantry, make sure to wipe down all shelving, who knew the pantry could get so dirty!

An easy place to start that will instantly elevate the look of your pantry, is to place grains, protein powders, and baking ingredients into jars or containers. This doesn’t have to be anything fancy, just some simple containers will do! This will help your pantry look much cleaner and will help you to see which items you need to stock up on. Containers are also a great way to keep cereals organized for your kids!

The canned good section can easily become a disaster! We end up with way too many because we can’t see what we have and have to search for the ones we are looking for. Using risers for your canned goods can make all the difference! This way you can see exactly what you have and can easily grab the one you are looking for without rummaging through your shelves.

A large basket or bin are great to have at the bottom of the pantry for chips, overstock on drinks, or just a place for a few random items. It’s great to have them easily accessible without it looking so cluttered and taking up a bunch of space! Again, these don’t have to be anything fancy, if you have an old basket lying around, just use that!

If you have kids, use some clear bins or containers to store snacks! This helps to keep them all in one place and neatly organized. Make sure they are easily accessible so they can see what they are looking for and grab it right away.

The condiment section is another one that can get messy quick!! A great way to organize your condiments is to use a lazy Susan. They make it so easy to find and get what you need. It also helps to make sure that they all have a designated place and don’t get scattered throughout the pantry!

Another great way to stay organized is to label things that you frequently keep in your pantry. This helps for everything to have a place and avoid things being hidden behind clutter. Label makers are great to use because you can easily take off the label and put a new one on. If you don’t want to use a label maker, expo or dry erase markers work great on glass and plastic containers!
